Voir and voire
"Voir" (to see) is a very common verb that is no longer presented as meaning to perceive with the eyes. As for "voire", it is an adverb that means and also, and even.
Je viens de le voir.
J'ai attendu des mois, voire des années.
In order not to confuse them, we can try to replace "voire" with "and even" or "or". When this is not possible, it is the verb "voir".
- "Voir" is a verb that we can try to replace with another verb.
- "Voire" can be replaced by "et même".
